West Midlands Police have revealed the moment that an armed criminal's own CCTV camera caught his illicit gun deal less than an hour before police raided his house.

The footage shows Suni Masih, of Allens Road, Winson Green, was seen walking out of his home to greet a driver in a rented Vauxhall Astra.

The video then shows the driver handing Masih a hessian bag before he walks back into his home.

Less than a minute later, Masih can be seen taking a picture of the contents of the bag, which shows a pistol that was capable of automatic fire and loaded with seven 9mm rounds of ammunition.

Acting on information that a gun may have been seen inside the property, firearms police swooped on the address less than an hour later.

The footage shows the dramatic raid, with officers forcing their way into the address, and Masih's shadow being seen from a rear window as he desperately tries to discard the gun before he is arrested.

The gun was later recovered by officers the following morning, still in the same hessian bag.

Jeremiah Williams, the man who handed him the gun, was arrested days later.

Williams, of Wave Close, Walsall, and Misah went on to admit to conspiracy to supply firearms.

Misah was jailed for five years and seven months, and Williams was jailed for six years at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday.

Detective Chief Inspector Bryn Robins, from the Major Crime Unit at West Midlands Police, said: "It’s quite fitting that a CCTV system designed to deter and catch criminals ended up catching its owner in the act of a serious crime.

“This is quite an unusual gun, and extremely dangerous, in that it is capable of firing for as long as whoever is holding it holds down the trigger until it runs out of ammunition.

“We may never know how Masih planned to use the gun, but it’s clearly an extremely dangerous weapon which could have caused death or serious injury.

“The court has recognised the seriousness of this type of weapon and reflected it in the sentencing.

“Those involved in the supply of lethal firearms can expect lengthy prison sentences.

“It’s great that we’ve been able to take it off the streets, and that the two people involved in its sale are off the streets as well.
