Man told he cannot cross-examine alleged victim of coercive behaviour if he defends himself at Wolverhampton Crown Court

A defendant accused of coercive behaviour against a woman has been told he cannot cross-examine her if he represents himself at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Benjamin Kyte, 30, is charged with engaging in coercive behaviour between April 2021 and November 2021, namely assault and humiliation, and has pleaded not guilty.

Appearing before Wolverhampton Crown Court Kyte did not have legal representation and told Judge Robert Talog-Davies KC he wished to defend himself during the legal process.
