Laurence Turner, the Labour MP for Birmingham Northfield, raised the issue at Prime Minister’s Questions yesterday, March 19, saying residents in his constituency were “deeply concerned about the scourge of knife crime.”

He said West Midlands Police and the Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Foster was bidding for funding for 150 extra police officers.

“I pay tribute to the professionalism of West Midlands Police for their response to these horrendous attacks,” Mr Turner said.
