Staffordshire Police had stopped prohibited a HGV from moving in a check zone and the peckish operator decided to order food.

But when the delivery driver arrived, he drove into the check zone while using his phone behind the wheel.

In a post on X, police said: "Following a HGV being prohibited from moving. Driver ordered a Pizza.

"Pizza delivery drives onto the Police checksite on his phone. Probably not a great idea. Picked up his own fine and points up for that."

Using a phone while driving can result in six penalty points and a £200 fine.

You can also lose your license if you've passed your driving test in the last two years., the Government website states.
