Arrest after vehicle attempts to drive down M6 Toll in Staffordshire the wrong way

A man has been arrested after a vehicle attempted to drive down the M6 Toll in Staffordshire the wrong way.

Cannock Police said a male had been arrested following reports that a vehicle was attempting to join the M6 Toll in Norton Canes last night (Monday), but was going the wrong way towards oncoming traffic

Thankfully officers from the Staffordshire Road Crime Team located the vehicle before anyone was hurt and further checks revealed the driver had no licence and no insurance. 

The male driver was arrested and the vehicle was seized.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said last night: "Tonight a male has been arrested following reports that a vehicle was attempting to join the M6 Toll in Norton Canes, but was going the wrong way towards oncoming traffic. 

"Thankfully officers from the Staffordshire Road Crime Team located the vehicle before anyone was hurt. 

"Checks revealed the driver had no licence and no insurance. 

"Male arrested and vehicle seized. Incident 0551 of the 13th of January refers."
