Deng Chol Majek, 18, of Bescot Crescent, Walsall, currently being held at HMP Strangeways, was due to plead at Wolverhampton Crown Court today (November 21) for charges of murder and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

Miss Whyte was found with stab wounds at Bescot Railway Station on Sunday, October 20, around 11.25pm.

Majek was arrested soon after and originally charged with attempted murder. However, three days later Miss Whyte died in hospital surrounded by devastated relatives and the charge was upgraded to murder.
