'Disqualified driver' caught and charged after driving cloned van in Brierley Hill

A man has been arrested and charged after police spotted a cloned van in Brierley Hill and checks allegedly showed he was disqualified from driving.

Last night (November 11), Brierley Hill police tweeted that they had made an after officers spotted a cloned Luton van in the area. 

The force added: "We followed the van to a dead end where the driver ran into woodland. We caught him nearby & arrested him on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle. 

"Checks also showed he was a disqualified driver."

In a brief update given on the social media platform, X (Twitter), this morning (November 12), police said the man had been charged and was to appear in court. 

"This male has now been charged with disqualified driving, fraudulent use of registration mark and driving without third party insurance," the police wrote. 

"He has been remanded in custody to appear at court."
