Jailed: Home invader with appalling record smashed ceramic Buddha over victim's head

A robber 'smashed a ceramic Buddha' over an old friend's head after barging into his home and stealing £170.

Daniel Fowell was jailed for 26 months at Wolverhampton Crown Court

At 4.30am on March 19, 2022, Daniel Fowell, who has more than 100 previous convictions, stormed round the Walsall home of Adrian Saunders demanding to know the whereabouts of his girlfriend.

After forcing his way into the house and discovering his girlfriend was not there, Fowell brutally attacked Saunders, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard.

He punched him, tried to hit him with a hammer and then during the ensuing struggle picked up a ceramic Buddha and smashed it over his head. Saunders was left with extensive injuries including cuts and bruises to the head.

Prosecuting Edward Soulsbry said: "The victim Adrian Saunders heard a noise outside, and then saw Fowell, who he knows through his father, he asked if his girlfriend was there and then proceeded to check every room and found she was not.
