Residents 'frightened' and 'alarmed' as armed police work to resolve Wolverhampton siege safely
Residents living on a Wolverhampton road that has been flooded with armed police speak of feeling frightened with some claiming they are unable to access their homes.
West Midlands Police officers, including dedicated firearms officers, first attended Moathouse Lane West, Wednesfield, at around 1pm on Friday with roads in the immediate area having been cordoned off since.
The force confirmed on Saturday that negotiators were still on the scene.
The incident has reportedly left some living on the road unable to access their homes almost 24-hours later.
One resident, who does not wish to be named, told the Express & Star that they were forced to stay with family members overnight after they were denied entry to their property.
They said: "We keep being told we can't go home. I can't understand why they have so many police officers outside and they haven't resolved this situation – by two o'clock it will have been 24 hours.
