Jailed: Driver mowed down man leaving him 'helpless' and 'unable to do simplest things'
A disqualified driver mowed another man down on an icy night and left him for dead, resulting in a year-long hospital stay and 'unable to do the simplest things'.
Vitalijus Stepanovas, 39, was caught on CCTV seriously injuring 53-year-old Imants Tabunovs on Glover Street, West Bromwich, and driving off without stopping to help his victim.
Mr Tabunovs was run over at 1am on Sunday, November 28, 2021, after wandering into the road drunk, however, he was left for dead and only found by a passer-by hours later.
Wolverhampton Crown Court heard how Stepanovas had been banned from driving the month before the crash in France.
