Ranting man who waved kitchen knife around Dudley town centre after cocaine and booze binge avoids jail

A drunken man has avoided jail despite being caught on CCTV waving a kitchen knife around Dudley town centre.

Christopher Round waved the knife around on Tower Street, Dudley

Christopher Round. aged 23, appeared before Wolverhampton Crown Court on Tuesday after pleading guilty to possessing a knife in a public place.

After consuming alcohol and cocaine on the evening of January 18, this year, Round grabbed a long kitchen knife and left his flat in Tower Street, Dudley.

The court was shown a seven-minute CCTV clip which showed an agitated Round shouting and waving the knife around in the street for several minutes.

Friends and his then girlfriend tried to calm him down but he continued to brandish the knife. Several times he held the kitchen knife to his own throat.
