'Rapist ripped all my dreams away,' says devastated schoolgirl
A 13-year-old schoolgirl who was by a convicted sex offender has spoken of her ordeal.
She was attacked after agreeing to meet up with a man on the Walsall-Lichfield border on August 7 last year after being befriended by him on her Snapchat account.
Her victim's impact statement was read aloud at Stafford Crown Court on Monday by prosecuting barrister Miss Maria Brannan, who said the incident had taken a terrible toll on the girl.
The teenager who described herself as previously being "bubbly"stated: "I was a happy girl. I used to go out with my friends and family."
