Police hunt continues for driver of cloned car who crashed into houses before running off

The hunt continues for the driver of a "cloned" car which crashed into houses and a gas main during a late night police pursuit of a suspected drug dealer.

Officers from Staffordshire Police spotted the grey Audi A3 with cloned plates on Friday evening and began pursuing it.

At around 10pm, the car crashed on Giggetty Lane in Wombourne, at the junction with Planks Lane before the driver fled.

Images show the damage left behind at the scene, with large cracks seen running along the foundation of the houses, leaving behind exposed brick.

Tyre marks are visible near to the door of one property, leading up to the point of a gas main which has become exposed as a result of the crash.
