Villagers recall 'bang' as 'cloned' car crashed into houses before driver ran off
Villagers living in a street where a suspected drug dealer crashed a car before running have recalled hearing a bang as the car hit two houses and gas main.
Officers from Staffordshire Police spotted the grey Audi A3 with cloned plates on Friday evening and began pursuing it.
At around 10pm, the car was crashed on Giggetty Lane in Wombourne, at the junction with Planks Lane before the driver made off.
The frontage of the two houses which were hit was visibly damaged with piles of rubble at the scene.
Significant scrapes could also be seen travelling along the length of the properties, with brick having become exposed and tyre marks on show.
One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, described hearing a "bang" at the time of the incident.
They said: "It was about 10 o'clock and we heard a noise – a bang. We looked out the window and went out and saw it was the terraced houses.
