Jailed: Motorist banned for drink-driving ran over woman who popped out for cat food
A banned driver who ran over a woman, knocking her shoes off, before speeding away has been jailed.
Rhian Morgan had popped out to get some cat food at her local shop in West Bromwich on the evening of March 1 this year when she suffered serious injury after being mown down by Gurwinder Singh in his Range Rover.
CCTV showed Singh drive out of Cambridge Street in the wrong lane, and then onto Bromford Lane in the wrong lane and then knock Miss Morgan down.
Singh, who had been banned from the road due to drink-driving just 34 days before the hit and run, pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by careless driving, driving without insurance and driving while disqualified.
