New year trial date set for Atkinson machete murder case
A trial date has been set for nine defendants charged with the murder of Bailey Atkinson in Walsall town centre.
Mr Atkinson, aged 20, died in an alleged machete attack in High Street in the old Walsall market in the early hours of January 28.
On Friday seven of the defendants appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court charged with murdering Mr Atkinson. At the hearing Ronan McCulloch, of Livingstone Road, and Sonny Loverage, both 18 and from Bloxwich, and five youths all aged under 18 spoke only to confirm their names.
