Oldbury murder accused appears in court after man found with stab wounds

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 32-year-old man found with stab wounds in the Black Country.

Rommell Holding was injured during an incident at a property, in Newbury Lane, in Oldbury, on September 11 last year and died in hospital 14 days later.

Colin Phipps, 38, appeared before a judge at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday.

The accused, of Minister Close, Rowley Regis, denies the allegations. He was remanded in custody until the trial in June.

The inquest for Mr Holding, 32, of Union Street, Dudley, was also opened and adjourned at the Black Coroner's Court on Monday.

The cause of death was given as complications of a stab wound of the chest.
