Trial set for 22-year-old accused of killing his father in Wolverhampton

A trial date has been set for a 22-year-old man accused of killing his father in Wolverhampton.

Berris Thomas, 62, was found with multiple stab wounds at his home, in Tettenhall Road, Newbridge, on July 20 last year by officers carrying out a welfare check.

Jermaine Thomas, of Handsworth, Birmingham, faced an offence of murder at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Thursday.

The defendant, who was represented by Mr Michael Ivers QC, appeared by video link and will stand trial on June 13. He was remanded in custody.
