Four men are on trial at Birmingham Crown Court, accused of killing 21-year-old Shane Mayer in Forge Road, Darlaston, Walsall.

Mr Mayer was stabbed in the leg during a fight on July 24, 2019, and died three days later.

The defendants in the case are Kamron Reid, 20, of Herberts Park Road, Bloxwich; Lewis Green, 21, of Heathfield Lane West, Darlaston; Joseph Till, 21, of Summer Street, Willenhall; and Ramani Sanderson, 20, of Walsham Road, near Peckham, London.

They have all denied murder.

Shortly after Mr Mayer died, his family paid tribute to him, saying: “Our Shane, the ache in our hearts is unexplainable; we are all broken now forever. We have not only lost our son, his sister has lost her only brother.

“His family have lost their spark for life. Shane meant the world to all of us. We were a team and it’s been destroyed and taken from us so soon.”
