Brothers facing charges over stolen cars for dismantling in 'chop shop'
Two brothers are facing charges of stealing cars and delivering them to a Shropshire farm as part of a "chop shop" scam.
Ashley Kerr, 21, and his 18-year-old brother Shigoree Kerr were both due at Telford Magistrates Court last week.
The elder brother appeared, facing two charges of conspiracy to defraud. He made no plea and has been remanded in custody until his next appearance at Shrewsbury Crown Court on April 19.
Shigoree Kerr will appear at Telford Magistrates Court on Tuesday, facing the same charges.
Prosecutor Kate Price told the court that the pair, from Green Park Drive, Bilston, Wolverhampton, are accused of "putting cars through a chop shop". The practice involves illicitly disassembling stolen motor vehicles and selling their parts.
Other alleged co-conspirators are currently in custody.
