Alleged teenage killer in hospital after being stabbed
A teenager accused of murdering another young man in Great Barr is himself in hospital after being stabbed
Cameron Cheshire, 18, is accused of stabbing 19-year-old Jack Barry to death.
Mr Barry was pronounced dead at the scene in West Road after being found seriously injured at around 9.45pm on March 7.
The case was presented before judge Melbourne Inman QC at Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday, where Cheshire was remanded into custody.
Cheshire, of West Road, did not appear in court due to him being in hospital. The court heard Cheshire had been stabbed.
A barrister said: "Cameron Cheshire was injured himself, stabbed. [He was] taken to Brinsford [prison] but Brinsford felt he was not fit enough to be remanded."
Cheshire is due to appear at court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on April 16.
A preliminary trial date has been set for November 8.
