Two boys, aged 12 and 14, arrested and weapons seized after bus station disorder
Police arrested two boys and recovered a lock knife and BB gun after youths pretended to shoot each other at a bus station.
The gang of youths were scaring bus passengers at Wolverhampton bus station before officers arrived at around 5.20pm on Sunday, say police.
A boy, aged 12, was arrested on suspicion of possessing of an imitation firearm, while a 14-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article.
Both have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
The BB gun, which looks a realistic firearm, was seized from Pipers Row where the bus station is located, while the lock knife was seized in nearby Albion Street.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We seized a knife and firearm after being called to reports of youths pretending to shoot each other and scaring bus passengers.
"We were called to Wolverhampton bus station, Pipers Row, following public concerns at around 5.20pm on Sunday.
"We seized a BB gun - which look like realistic firearms - from Pipers Row and a lock knife in nearby Albion Street.
"A 12-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm and a 14-year-old on suspicion of possessing a bladed article.
"They have both been released under investigation. BB guns can look very similar to a viable firearm and can cause great concern.
"A knife can be a deadly weapon and we’re working with partners to educate around the dangers."
