Man hit with metal bar in Black Country carjacking

A man was hit by metal bar in a carjacking in the Black Country.

The carjacking took place in Barnett Green, Kingswinford, at around 4.20pm on Sunday.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, suffered head injuries when he was attacked and hit with a metal bar after being approached by three men.

The men stole his VW Golf, which was later recovered in the Brierley Hill area.

West Midlands Police officers have now launched an investigation and are calling for any witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman for the force said: "We are investigating a carjacking on Barnett Green, Kingswinford, around 4.20pm on Sunday.

"A man in his 20s reported being assaulted and hit with a metal bar after being approached by three men.

"He suffered head injuries – which are not believed to be serious – as his VW Golf was taken. The vehicle was later recovered in Brierley Hill.

"Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information can contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting incident number 20DY/317459/20.
