Stafford cocaine dealer locked up for three years
A man found with cash and cocaine at his home after being stopped by officers near Stafford town centre has been jailed for three years.
James Wilson, better known as Marley Ricks, was locked up after admitting possession with intent to supply cocaine.
The 35-year-old, who also pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis, was stopped by officers on November 16 near the town centre.
Plain clothed officers had been patrolling the Marston Road area just after 6pm when they saw Wilson and identified themselves.
Wilson disputed their identity but after being detained and handcuffed told them his address was in the Highfields area.
But further enquiries found he lived in Gaol Road, where police found wraps of cocaine valued at £600 and £850 as well as £550 in cash.
Digital scales with white powder traces on them were also found by officers.
Wilson was sentenced to three years in prison at Stafford Crown Court.
Sergeant Tom Fotherby, of Stafford Neighbourhood Policing Team, said officers had been quick to act and detain Ricks after he was spotted in Marston Road and believed to be dealing.
"We welcome information and support from people in Stafford Borough to help us tackle drug dealing and bring offenders like Ricks before the courts."
