Two arrested after dozen men found in back of lorry on M6 are released
Two people arrested after a dozen men were found in the back of a lorry on the M6 in Walsall have been released under investigation.
The lorry was stopped by police on December 14 at 3.25pm and officers encountered 12 males who presented themselves as Iranian and Iraqi nationals, the Home Office said.
They were taken into custody to be interviewed by immigration officers.
Their cases will be dealt with according to the immigration rules.
A man and a woman, both Bulgarian nationals, were arrested on suspicion of assisting unlawful immigration.
The case has been referred to Immigration Enforcement Criminal and Financial Investigations.
The two individuals arrested for assisting illegal migration have been released under investigation, the Home Office has since confirmed.
