Warrants were carried out by West Midlands Police on the back of intelligence surrounding the suspected illegal network in the region.

Drugs, a knife, an axe, a firearm and ammunition were also seized during raids on addresses across Acocks Green, Erdington and Oldbury.

A 33-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply drugs, a 35-year-old man has been arrested over supplying drugs and possession of a firearm and a 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of having a firearm.

All four remain in police custody, a spokesman for West Midlands Police said.

Detective Inspector Dan Rooks, from the County Lines Taskforce, said: "These warrants are a result of information we’ve received around a County Lines ring which is suspected of using children and young teens to peddle drugs.

"There is ongoing investigations around the network and this action is part of our efforts to break it up and remove drugs from our communities.

"We not only recovered drugs but some potentially dangerous weapons. We’re determined to bring down supply chains and will act on information we receive, so it’s important people let us know of illegal operations in their area."
