A 16-year-old cyclist was riding along the service road near to Chester Road, in Chelmsley Wood, between 5pm and 5.15pm on November 11, when he was struck by a car.

The boy was left injured on the side of the road – as the car drove off. He was later taken to hospital with a fractured nose after a member of the public found him.

West Midlands Police officers are asking for information from anyone who may have seen what happened, or who may have captured dash-cam footage of the incident itself, or moments before or after the collision.

PC Jordan Keen from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I am asking any witnesses who we have not yet spoken to, to come forward and let us know what they saw that day.

“We believe a dark coloured car may have been involved and we need help in identifying exactly what vehicle it was.

“Thankfully the boy is doing ok now, but perhaps the driver was unaware of the level of injury they caused at the time, so we need to find them.”

Anyone with information is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting incident number 3987 of November 11.
