Man charged with murdering woman, 51
A man has been charged with murder after a woman's body was discovered near a house on a quiet street.
Mark Masefield has been charged by detectives from West Midlands Police with the murder of a 51-year-old woman, whose body was found at an address in Stockland Green.
Officers from the force were called to an address on George Road on Thursday following reports of a woman being stabbed.
Masefield, who lives on George Road, was charged with murder on Friday, and the 52-year-old was due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place and the family of the woman are continuing to be supported by specialist officers.
