The 79-year-old man was awoken just before 1.30am on Tuesday, when he heard glass smashing.

When he went to investigate, he was faced with three masked men in his house.

They hit him, but fortunately he didn’t sustain any injuries.

Police believe the men were trying to find the keys to his Mercedes car parked on his drive, but they left without anything.

Detectives from West Midlands Police have released video footage from inside his house in a bid to trace the offenders.
