Four women and two men were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after the protest at UAV Engines site in Shenstone, Lichfield.

It comes after a number of people were arrested in September after another protest at the factory.

They called for the company – which is owned by Israeli firm Elbit Systems – to be shut down, claiming it is involved in manufacturing parts for drones used by the Israeli military against Palestinians.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "Six people have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage following a protest at a factory in Shenstone, Lichfield overnight.

"Four women - aged 25, 26, 28 and 57 and from Birmingham, London and Somerset - were detained alongside two men - a 32-year-old from Birmingham and 56-year-old from Reading.

"All six remain in police custody at this time. Enquiries are ongoing as officers continue to monitor the situation."
