Man wanted over serious stabbing at Birmingham bedsit
Police are appealing for help in tracing an attempted murder suspect – who is wanted over a stabbing that has left a man fighting for his life.
Keith Wagstaffe, from Cookspiece Walk, in Stetchford, is wanted for the knife attack at a multi-occupancy property off Arden Walk,Birmingham, on Wednesday, September 30.
It is understood several people forced entry to the bedsit at around 1pm before the occupant, a 43-year-old man, was stabbed several times.
He was placed in an induced coma in hospital, where he remains sedated in a critical condition.
West Midlands Police believe 29-year-old Wagstaffe played a part in the stabbing – and are urging anyone who has seen him or has information on his whereabouts to get in touch.
Bailed
Police have already arrested two men, aged 18 and 39 years old, in connection with the wounding. They have both been bailed while enquiries progress.
Detective Sergeant Simon Hanlon from Force CID said: “This was a frenzied attack and the victim has suffered, we believe, seven stab wounds to his body.
“Our enquiries suggest Wagstaffe knows the victim and that this was a targeted attack. We do not believe anything was stolen from the flat.
“We have made good progress with two suspects already arrested and a vehicle we believe used in the attack seized for forensic examination.
“If anyone knows where Wagstaffe is then please contact us straight away. Do not approach him, just call us.”
