Brierley Hill double murder in third Black Country shooting in three days
Two men have been found shot dead in a car on a Dudley industrial estate - the third shooting in the Black Country in just three days.
West Midlands Police have launched a double murder investigation after the men were discovered critically injured inside a Black Range Rover Vogue parked outside units at Albion Works, off Moor Street in Brierley Hill.
The men were found just before 3.30pm on Wednesday but police believe they were killed at the site shortly after 1pm.
The killer left the scene on foot according to witnesses.
Both victims – who have yet to be formally identified – were pronounced dead at the scene. A post mortem examination will take place.
Police have sealed off the industrial estate, putting cordons in place and enquiries are underway. An alleyway between Springfield Road and Moor Street has also been cordoned off.
The murder victims were taken away by a plain silver private ambulance shortly after 3am today and forensics investigators have been on scene.
It comes just a day after a man was seriously injured in a shooting in Cradley Heath.
The man, in his 20s, was shot in the arm and neck at around 10.30pm on Tuesday.
He was found in a Vauxhall car with a smashed-out window in Upper High Street, Cradley Heath, where he is believed to have driven to after being shot elsewhere.
And on Monday bullets were fired towards Wolverhampton College in Paget Road. Nobody was injured in that incident.
Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the Brierley Hill area at the time who saw or heard anything suspicious about the double shooting to get in touch.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was also at the scene – sending one ambulance and two paramedic officers.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "On arrival crews discovered two male patients, both of whom were inside a car, it is believed they had been there for some time.
"Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save either of them and they were confirmed dead at the scene."
