West Midlands Police said "a group of individuals" were moved on from Dudley Road, in the Blakenhall area of the city, during patrols on anti-social-behaviour on Saturday evening.

Officers said members of the public breached Covid-19 rules but also a public space protection order [PSPO] ban on drinking - which was brought into force in parts of Wolverhampton in July.

Ettingshall Police tweeted: "#ASB patrols continue. This time #Dudley road where a group of individuals have been directed to leave the area.

"Not only #covid breaches but also #pspo banning public drinking. We will start issuing fines where persistent offenders offend."

It comes as police ramped up efforts this weekend to stop people breaching rules over social gatherings amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
