Walsall restaurant hit in drive-by shooting

Shots were fired at a restaurant in Walsall during a drive-by shooting

Two shots are believed to have been fired from a car at the Broadway Bar and Grill on Birmingham Road, causing damage to the front door of the restaurant.

No one was injured in the attack, which happened at 8.45pm on Friday.

West Midlands Police are examining CCTV and making other enquiries to establish the circumstances behind the attack.

A message was put out on the Broadway Bar and Grill Facebook page to reassure customers of business as normal.

It said: "There was an incident yesterday at the Broadway Bar & Grill that is being dealt with by Bloxwich police station.

"If anybody has an information, please contact 101.

"Today, we open at 12 for business as usual."

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We’re investigating after gun shots were fired towards a restaurant in Birmingham Road, Walsall, at around 8.30pm yesterday.

"Damage was caused to the front door, but no-one was injured.

"Two shots are understood to have been fired from a car, which then fled the area.

"CCTV is being examined and other enquiries carried out as we seek to establish the circumstances.
