Father slashed across back while protecting baby girl in pram
A father was slashed across the back while protecting his baby girl from a masked robber in Birmingham.
The attacker threatened to harm the man's 22-month-old child in Hawthorne Road, Bournville, yesterday.
The victim, in his 30s, spotted a weapon in the robber's arms and stood over the pram to protect his baby.
He was then slashed across the back. The attacker fled the scene empty-handed and a knife was later discovered in the area.
The victim's injuries were not serious.
Officers are examining CCTV and carrying out enquiries to identify him.
Police have stepped up patrols in the area and are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything to get in touch.
Detective Sergeant Marc Petford, from force CID, said: "This was a terrifying situation as the victim was left fearing for the safety of his daughter and himself. It's important we identify this man as soon as possible."
