Burglars swipe charity boxes during Staffordshire chip shop break-in

Heartless burglars stole two charity collection boxes during a break in at a Staffordshire chip shop.

Bridge Chippy & Pizza, on Burntwood Road in Norton Canes, Cannock, was targeted sometime between 11pm on Saturday and Monday morning when the culprits forced entry.

Staffordshire Police has launched an appeal in a bid to track down the culprits.

A spokesman for the force said: "Police were contacted at 10.20am on Monday to a report of a break-in at Bridge Chippy & Pizza on Burntwood Road in Norton Canes, Cannock.

"Sometime between 11pm on Saturday and Monday morning, offenders forced entry to the premises and stole two charity collection boxes."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police quoting incident number 208 of August 24.
