Police investigate major crash in Dudley
Police are investigating a major two-car-crash in the Black Country where the occupants of one vehicle fled the scene.
A black Audi was left balanced on top of a silver Lexus following the collision in George Street, Dudley, just after 10.30pm on Wednesday.
Paramedics treated a man who was inside the Lexus for injuries to his arm which were not believed to be serious. Fire crews say two occupants of the black Audi fled the scene.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We are investigating a two car collision on George Street in Dudley, just before 10.30pm last night, where an Audi car ended up on top of a Lexus car.
"One person was treated for injuries to their arm, while the occupants of one of the cars fled the scene."
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: "We were called to reports of a two-car collision on Sedgley Road at 10.20pm.
"Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
"On arrival we discovered two cars that had been in collision, one of which had come to rest on top of the other.
"There was one patient, a man, who was the driver of the bottom car.
"He was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Russells Hall Hospital for further treatment."
The road was closed following the crash.
West Midlands Fire Service tweeted: "We have just attended this RTC on Sedgley rd, where two people have left the scene who were in the black Audi, prior to emergency service attendance. The driver of the Lexus was treated by @OFFICIALWMAS and @WMPolice are currently investigating. The road is currently closed"
