Walsall Council now applying for court order to evict travellers
Walsall Council is set to go to court today to apply for an order to evict travellers from a park.
The news comes after they got bailiffs to remove them from King George V Fields on Tuesday morning, but they drove straight onto nearby Bloxwich Park.
The council serviced a notice for them to leave the park and is now applying for the order.
Just last week an encampment set up on Bentley West Playing fields, also in Walsall.
Other illegal encampments seen in the borough included a group breaking onto the playing fields of New Invention Junior School and destroying an orchard planted by pupils.
They were removed but ended up at Holland Park in Brownhills. Other incursions have been reported at Five Fields off Pool Hayes Lane, locations in Aldridge and in Walsall town centre.
