Sixth man arrested over planned Rugeley rave
Police have arrested a sixth person in connection with a planned rave near Rugeley back in June.
The 20-year-old, from Rugeley, was detained today as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal raves.
The young man was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to cause a public nuisance.
Chief Superintendent Carl Ratcliffe, head of the operation, said: "The operation continues and we will make further arrests if necessary.
"I understand that lockdown is being eased but these unlawful gatherings cannot take place.
More Covid-19 coverage:
"We have a continuing, dedicated policing operation in place, with a much higher police presence in potential hot spot areas."
An illegal rave planned near Chasewater, also back in June, has led to the arrests of 13 people as part of the operation.
That month, on June 13, police also broke up a rave in Lichfield where about 1,000 people attended.
