Police car's windows smashed after being left parked on West Midlands street
A police car had its windows smashed in after being left unattended on a street in the West Midlands.
Officers had parked the vehicle on Dormington Road, Birmingham, throughout last week to reassure residents.
It had been left to show a "visual presence" as patrols were also carried out in the Kingstanding area by police.
But the move has seen vandals damage the police car – which had its side windows smashed and side mirror damaged.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "A police car has been vandalised while parked in Dormington Road, Kingstanding.
"The vehicle had been parked in the area throughout the week as a visual police presence in addition to officer patrols.
"Vandalism is unacceptable and anyone with information is asked to contact us via live chat, or by calling 101."
Now the vehicle has been recovered by officers on Sunday after vandals are believed to have struck overnight.
