Car rammed as knife attack leaves two men injured in Smethwick
Two men were attacked with knives on a Black Country street after the car they were in was deliberately rammed.
The men were taken to hospital with slash wounds after the attack in Watery Lane, Smethwick, at around 12.30am on Tuesday.
Police believe the two men were in a car travelling down nearby Arden Road when a car deliberately struck theirs and a group of men began attacking them.
The two injured men, aged 37 and 27, were taken to hospital with slash wounds and remained in hospital today. Their injuries are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called by the police at 12.35am on Tuesday to reports of a stabbing in Watery Lane, Smethwick. Two ambulances, two paramedic officers and a MERIT trauma doctor were sent to the scene.
"Two men were given treatment on scene for serious injuries before both were taken on blue lights to hospital for further emergency care."
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said enquiries into the incident are continuing and have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
