The 83-year-old woman was approached by two women in the town centre on Friday, July 10.

The two women started chatting to the victim in Birdcage Walk just after midday, saying they recognised her – with one of them hugging her and the second holding her hand.

But in the process, they stole her wedding ring and other jewellery – replacing them with cheap fakes so the victim did not notice until later on.

West Midlands Police officers have now released CCTV images of two women they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Anyone who recognises the women, is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101 quoting crime number 20DY/160629E/20.
