Man charged over murder of woman found with fatal neck injuries in Solihull

A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found with fatal neck injuries in the West Midlands.

Kerry Woolley, aged 38, was discovered at her flat on Warwick Road in Solihull at around 3.20pm on Sunday.

Now Ian Bennett, aged 37, from Moordown Avenue in Solihull, has been charged with murder.

His mother Lynda Bennett, aged 62, also from Moordown Avenue, has been charged with perverting the course of justice and assisting an offender.

Both of them will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court today.

Detective Inspector Nick Barnes, from West Midlands Police's homicide team, said: "My thoughts remain with Kerry’s family who are devastated by their loss.

"Our investigations are continuing and I’d urge anyone who may have any information to contact us as soon as possible."
