Wolverhampton road cordoned off as gun fired at house
A road was sealed off after gun was fired at a house in Wolverhampton.
Yew Tree Lane in Tettenhall was cordoned off near Woodthorne Road South as officers searched for evidence on Saturday.
Specialist search teams were combing the area for several hours after a shot was fired through the window of a house at around 3am. Nobody was injured and no arrests have been made.
Officers were seen searching for evidence under cars and in drains before the road was reopened at lunchtime.
A house in the area was also cordoned off.
A nearby resident, who did not wish to be named, said: "The road was closed off this morning. I saw it after 8am - it was all cordoned off along with a house.
"Apparently there was gunfire but I never heard anything really. It's usually a very very quiet area - it's usually really peaceful.
"It's very surprising."
Another neighbour, a man, added: "One of the officers said a window had been smashed in the middle of the night, but he didn't say how it broke.
"It's usually a really quiet area. I didn't hear anything last night or anything this morning really."
Yew Tree Lane runs from the A41 to Pattingham Road, with the search taking place in between Perton Middle School and Woodthorne Primary School.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a shot fired through a window of a house in Yewtree Lane, Wolverhampton during the early hours of this morning.
"We received the report just before 3am and fortunately noone was injured.
"An investigation is underway, including a forensic examination of the scene to determine what happened.
