Woman attacked and forced into car near Birmingham reservoir

A woman was punched, kicked and forced into a car during an assault in the West Midlands.

The incident is reported to have unfolded at around 9.15pm on Friday, May 29, in Reservoir Road, in Edgbaston, Birmingham.

The 29-year-old victim was sitting on a bench at the Edgbaston reservoir with a friend when she was approached by a man who repeatedly kicked and punched her.

Members of the public intervened and the woman ran off, with the man chasing her.

The man then further assaulted the woman and forced her into a car and made off from the area.

The woman managed to escape a short while area.

A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "The man is believed to be known to the victim but we are keen to hear from anyone who might have seen anything to get in touch."

Anyone with information is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting incident number 20BW/123805H/20.
