Three teenagers released on bail as probe continues into Smethwick stabbing

Three teenagers who were arrested following a double stabbing outside a Black Country shopping centre have been released on police bail while investigations continue.

Two boys, aged 16 and 17, were stabbed while a 14-year-old boy was also injured at West Cross Shopping Centre, Smethwick, at around 12.15pm on Wednesday.

The attack happened in the same car park off Oldbury Road where Karl Gallagher was murdered in April.

The latest incident was the sixth knife attack to happen in the Black Country in a week.

The 16 and 17 year olds were arrested on suspicion of affray while a 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of wounding.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "All three have been released on police bail as enquiries continue."
