Four arrests as woman seriously injured in Walsall knife attack
Four suspected drug dealers have been arrested after a woman was attacked with a knife in Walsall town centre.
Bridge Street in Walsall was cordoned off by police after the 25-year-old woman was left with knife wounds at around 10.20pm.
Officers were flagged down by a member of the public and found the woman injured in a pizza shop after an incident at a nearby flat.
The woman was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
Four men aged 24, 26, 28 and 38 were arrested on suspicion of wounding and possession of intent to supply cannabis.
The 26-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.
All four men remain in police custody this morning for questioning as enquiries continue.
Police tape was put in place next to Elmdon Office Supplies as officers attended the scene at No.1 Pizza.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to reports of an assault on Bridge Street at 10.20pm last night.
"One ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car was sent to the scene.
"On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to hospital for further assessment.”
The attack happened around an hour after a man was stabbed to death in a separate incident in Great Barr.
