Man, 20, arrested after shooting in Birmingham
A man has been arrested after the latest shooting in Birmingham.
The 20-year-old suspect was arrested after police were called to reports of shots being fired in Yardley Wood Road in Billesley at around midday today.
Nobody is believed to have been injured in the disorder.
The road was blocked off for around five hours as police officers scoured the area.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "The man was later arrested on possession of a firearm with intent to cause violence.
"He remains in police custody this evening for questioning."
The number of shootings and stabbings in the region has increased in recent weeks, with the region's police and crime commissioner warning that gangs are "coming out of lockdown".
In the last week of May there were at least four shootings in the West Midlands, including one in Wolverhampton, one in Handsworth and two in Birmingham.
