Buyer beware: Innocent driver's shock as stolen van seized by police on M6

A stolen van which was bought by an unsuspecting buyer was seized by police after a traffic stop on the M6.

The vehicle was seized in Staffordshire after officers on patrol noticed it had false number plates.

The van had been stolen from Coventry before being sold on.

A spokesman for Central Motorway Police Group said it was "purchased by an innocent member of the public", adding: "Make sure you know what you’re buying. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is."
