Investigation launched after hit-and-run crash in Walsall

Police are investigating after a hit-and-run crash left several parked cars damaged in Walsall.

West Midlands Police were called to reports of a crash between a Skoda and a VW Golf on Bentley Lane near Reedswood, Walsall shortly before 10pm last night.

The people inside the Golf fled before police arrived – but one man went to hospital later with head injuries.

Officers are now investigating.

A spokesman for WMP said: "It is believed the impact of the collision damaged several parked cars.

"The occupants of the Golf fled prior to police arrival, and one man later self-presented at hospital with head injuries.

"The driver of the Skoda was also taken to hospital with injuries with are not believed to be life threatening or life changing.

Witnesses said the road was closed for about two hours between Bentley Drive and Lane Avenue after the collision, which involved five vehicles – three of which were parked up.
